New breed of fotball!

April 5th people!


It's the first day we can preview the tactics and exciting playing style of the Mustang's newly aquired super-coach: June Jones. He brings to the field a totally different and unique style of fotball that Mustang fans all over are certain will help bring back the glory days. Needless to say, there is much excitement around coach Jones, his new recruits and the upcoming season.


I'm writing on behalf of a group of marketing majors from SMU who this semester got hired through an internship class to promote, plan and execute the spring Red/Blue game. Our overall goal is to bring as many people as possible to this event (it's free btw!) in order to stir up some much needed excitement for the upcoming season.


Since the start of the semester, we have been cooking up ideas on how to make this an exciting event for the whole SMU community and not just a game only attended by the players' families/girlfriends ect. Because of this we are creating a marketing campaign and we're also putting toghether an event that is going to be a lot of fun and really exciting. Some of the things we are working on: Providing sponsored catering and re-creating a boulevard experience, getting rock/pop band/bands to do a concert before or after the game, setting up contests with prizes and giveaways and Cool T-shirts for earlycomers. Nothing is set in stone, but through this blog I will keep y'all posted on whats going on and what you can expect for the event.
